TP347H (1Cr19Ni11Nb) is a high-carbon niobium-containing Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steel. Because it contains the stabilizing element Nb, it has good intergranular corrosion resistance and polysulfate intergranular stress corrosion resistance. It can be used in corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salts. Its corrosion resistance is similar to that of 18-8 austenitic stainless steel containing Ti. Since Nb is less likely to be burned than Ti, this steel type can also be used as a welding core for welding chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. This steel type has higher high-temperature strength and better high-temperature oxidation resistance than the 316 series, so it is often used as a heat-strength steel.
